One Dollar Does Make a Difference

It is very true that every dollar counts, whether you're a millionaire or you don't even have a dollar. One dollar now grows exponentially with compound growth. One dollar could make the difference about buying a food item this week. One dollar every day adds up to thousands. Every dollar is eventually spent. And you don't realize how much one dollar is until you're a dollar short.

One dollar now could equal five dollars later. This is because of compound growth. One dollar today, if you're relatively young, could grow multiple times by the time you stop earning money. One dollar at 10% growth per year makes $1.10 next year, and $1.21 the year after that. The ten cents your money made you made an additional cent. Plus the ten cents for that year. The money that your money makes, makes you even more money. This is compound growth and it is very powerful over time.

One dollar could make the difference between pickles or no pickles this week, when you go grocery shopping. Tough decisions sometimes have to be made regarding one dollar. You might have to choose between something to eat or a dollar of gas to drive to work tomorrow. It really is that serious.

One dollar every day, the cost of a candy bar maybe, adds up to thousands of dollars over your lifetime. Or potentially tens of thousands by the time you retire, going back to that concept of compound growth. If you can begin to save just one dollar more a day at age 30, you'll have thousands more at age 60. If you wish to retire early, it could be a deciding factor. It makes that much of a difference.

Every dollar eventually flows. Every dollar eventually gets spent. One dollar is one part of your overall cashflow. Whether one dollar is spent today or accumulates over time, it eventually makes it's way out of your pocket and gets consumed. A dollar has to be spent, otherwise it loses its value over time through inflation. One dollar accumulates and is eventually spent.

Have you ever been one dollar short on something you believed you needed? You don't realize how much a dollar really is until you don't have it. If you've ever been a smoker and not had money for a pack of cigarettes, you have a clue. One dollar short is a tough place to be. When you're a dollar short, that dollar is the most important thing in the world to you.
